according to Jeff, and likes to chase cars. At 97 lbs., fie needs a strong person in
control.
*Buddy — Has fear and territorial aggression, and "needs a job" to work off his energy.
*Jeffery —Basset hound from Foxboro is easygoing.
New Shelter Report
Next month's meeting will include a Shift Captains' meeting to review procedures in the new
shelter.
ACO Report
House Fire Cats —
Jeff believes there is insufficient legal reason to confiscate the cats on the basis of neglect or
cruelty. Although the youngest cat is 11, and most have medical problems, the consensus is that
the cats' health has improved while they are getting consistent care and medicine at the shelter.
AWC agreed to notify the owner that she has two months to find fi•iends to house her cats. After
that the shelter will begin charging boarding fees.
Lori again volunteered to help Roberta medicate her cats when they go home, and Justine also
volunteered.
Budget-
The shelter budget for 2011 was $8,000, all of which has been spent. Increased budgetary needs
arise because DPW no longer pays for heat and utilities, and Shaws no longer provides free pet
food. Jeff has requested a $10,000 budget for 2012. Additional funding will probably be
necessary since heating alone will consume most of that 2011 budget. AWC considered drafting a
letter to request more fiends.
Jeff will set up an account at a location where he can buy Purina, since Wellness at Feresteins is
too expensive.
