The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve minutes from September 15, 2011. Passes.
Foster Kitten & Cat Report
• Melissa's Litter (Chastity, Cody, Marco) — Sharon is fostering, and will bring them and
their vet papers to the shelter this weekend.
• Sophia — Has not received fast distemper shot yet.
• Christine's Litter — Colleen is fostering the two kittens who survived. They have not
yet received their first distemper shots.
*Emily — Has four kittens that are almost ready for shots.
• Maria — Has seven kittens that are about five weeks old.
• Simon — Sharon will wait to see how this diabetic cat fi-om DeWitt A.H. progresses
before she makes a decision on how to proceed with him.
Fire Cats
Lori reports that installation of a heating system at Roberta's house will start next week.
ACO Report
Jeff indicated that boarding fines for stray dogs can be collected even if the dog goes home the
same day. However, if it's a first offense, and if the dog is picked up right away, there's some
leeway in charging fines

Shelter Maintenance
• Lori offered to store some of the items, such as tents, that are currently stored in dog
kennels.
•Exterior kennel fights — Jeff reported that the light is working, but he will check the
timer so that the lights come on early enough.
*Large Dog Kennel — Jeff asked Mike to look at the plastic flap on the large dog kennel.
Two of the screws have come off.
• PC — The reception PC isn't working properly. Jeff has been unable to contact Sasha
since she hasn't been in her office. Mary offered to try emailing.
Miscellaneous
Stephanie's son will come to the December meeting to present his Eagle Scout project of creating
a memorial pet rock garden on the side of the shelter near the kennel.
