Thr,Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve minutes from May, 2012. Passes.
Foster Animal Report
*Emilie: Bisco's three kittens are doing well. Emilie's daughter is adopting diabetic
Simon.
• Sharon: Five, 4 week old kittens that were brought to the shelter are doing well with
Sharon's bottle feeding.
*Maria: Took pregnant Griselda home to foster.
*Chuck: Best Buddy and Betty are on special diets and insulin, and have good glucose
levels.
ACO Report
*To meet state requirements, Mansfield Housing Authority is forming a pet committee.
Erika volunteered to join the committee, which meets on an as- needed basis.
*Julie the dog trainer is evaluating Oakely, and might take him.
•After recent bite /scratch incidents with volunteers, Jeff suggested the need to review
procedures. Erika offered to put together a training presentation that would
emphasize safety and bite /scratch avoidance. Shift captains would attend and take
the information back to their volunteers,
• Ginger Snap (real name Peanut Butter) is microchipped, and was returned to Foxboro
owners.
•Jeff requested that when volunteers use the last of anything, such as the last bag of dry
cat food, they note it in the desk log so that he can see it.

Veterinary
*Erika will check Paloma's scars tomorrow, and examine Griselda and give her fluids.
Miscellaneous
*Erika knows someone who is looking for a barn cat and who might adopt Rascal.
• Sheila's former owner entailed Sharon, saying she has a friend who would like to have
the cat.
*Lori brought in some rocks from the beach, to be used in the memorial garden.
Landscaper Depot has rocks for $27 for a 5 gal. bucket. Stephanie will start
engraving the five donations received so far.
Shelter Maintenance
*Jeff replaced the general use key to the exterior dog kennels. The key was broken.
*Jeff will submit a request to purchase five kennel flaps (one is chewed and needs
replacement) and three sets of cat cage platforms.
