The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve minutes from July 17, 2014. Passes.
Shelter Maintenance
• The security alarm is not working properly: the alarm is muted. Jeff and Mike Ahern are
aware of the problem.
The cold water faucet in the utility room is probably stripped, and needs repair.
Jeff will remove the outside hose stand, which is no longer usable.
Fostered Animals
• Sherry will go to Tufts on 9119 for a second opinion. Sharon will foster her if she can't be
treated for oral cancer.
Veterinary
• Dr. Cervasio has increased Mr. Max's insulin to four units. Chuck will follow up with
Erika and Amy on the benefits of diet vs. increased insulin.
A.C.O. Report
• Jeff has stocked some food and litter prior to his vacation. Steve or volunteers can pick
up additional supplies at Ferestiens, where the town has an account.

• The dogs that were confiscicated by MPD, from a Mansfield resident, will be available
for adoption after they are vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Currently there are four 6
month old puppies at the shelter: three females and one male. Three adult dogs (6 — 8
years old) are housed at the Norton shelter until space becomes available in Mansfield.
Steve will follow up with vaccinations for the dogs while Jeff is on vacation.
Miscellaneous
• Sharon will look into fax capabilities in our printer setup.
• Sharon said MSF accepts adding another small playroom, contingent on seeing the labor
quote.
