Finance Committee
June 5, 2003
Presiding: Andres Gazzolo
Present: Frank DelVecchio, Charlene Lavin, James Lazzara, Jack Goldberg
Excused: Mike Sams, Jeff Lang
Chairman Gazzolo called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
On a motion duly made and seconded, it was:
VOTED (4 -0 -1): to appoint Jack Goldberg as the secretary of the Committee.
A motion was duly made to nominate Frank DelVecchio as chairman of the Committee:
Discussion followed and Mr. DelVecchio declined the nomination.
On a motion duly made and seconded, it was:
VOTED (4 -0 -1): to appoint Andres Gazzolo as chairman of the Committee.
On a motion duly made and seconded, it was:
VOTED (4 -0 -1): to appoint Frank DelVecchio as vice chairman of the Committee.

New business:
Chairman Gazzolo will email the Selectmen with a request to meet with the Finance
Committee as soon as possible for the purpose of a general working session.
There was general discussion that concluded in agreement that the Finance Committee would
be involved in the budget review process for all departments, including enterprise areas.
Discussion concerning the budget effects of a recent Selectmen vote to rescind the $25 fee
for recycling. Chairman Gazzolo will follow up with the town manager and report back.
On a motion duly made and seconded, it was:
VOTED: to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 p.m.
