January 8, 2004
Presiding: Andres Gazzolo
Present: James Lazzara, Jack Goldberg, Charlene Lavin, Frank DelVecchio and
Michael Sams
Chairman Gazzolo called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Jack and Jim briefed the Fincom on the status of their work with the Light Department.
Additional inquiries have been sent and a follow up workshop will be scheduled.
Chairman Gazzolo reported that the snow and ice removal budget has already exceeded the
budgeted amount.
On a motion that was duly made and seconded, it was
VOTED (4 -0) to allow deficit spending in this account in the event weather conditions
require such additional spending not to exceed $300,000.
Mike reported on his preliminary review of the school budget. He highlighted the increases
by major area and increase in net school spending.
On a motion that was duly made and seconded, it was
VOTED (6 -0) to write an article that details some of the increases in the 05 budget and
explain several matters /actions the school department should have undertaken to present a
level budget. The article would also probably express Fincom's lack of support of the school
budget in its present form.
Chairman Gazzolo distributed the full Town's budget to all Fincom members. He has invited
John D'Agostino and Bea Kearney to our next meeting to review it with us.
On a motion that was duly made and seconded, it was
VOTED (4 -0 -2): to accept the minutes of the meeting of December 18, 2003
On a motion duly made and seconded, it was:
VOTED: to adjourn the meeting at 8:07 p.m.
