Andy Gazzolo indicated that the new growth element was conservative and recommended we increase that estimate by $50,000. He also noted that the schedule included a Light Department PILOT of $150,000 — however indicated the profit portion of the PILOT would be $180,000. Accordingly, these adjustments bring the budget gap to $320,000. The budget effect of continued use of Stabilization Funds was discussed as well as the implications of bonding certain items that might otherwise have been paid from operating budgets. Moretti explained that forecasted lane changes will cost up to $100,000. When a reduction in school secretaries was suggested, Moretti indicated that this was just not possible. Discussed how the base upon which the 3% increase for the School budget was computed. There was some disagreement as to what amount should be used for the base. Gazzolo indicated he would send documentation of his calculation to Moretti. School Committee representatives discussed they will meet to decide which actions they can support in meeting or exceeding the $650,000 budget request reduction outlined in Moretti's aforementioned recap in closing the budget gap. Gazzolo indicated the reasons why he believed the use of additional funds from Stabilization was not an appropriate course. School Committee representatives indicated they would provide an answer to the results of their budget request reductions on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. On a motion that was duly made and seconded, it was VOTED (unanimous voice vote) to adjourn the workshop at 9:25pm. Resbectfully submi ed ac GoldlSerg , 4F nce Committee, secretary tl •!
