Present: Jess Aptowitz, Jack Goldberg, Charlene Lavin, Jim Lazzara, and Mike Sams
Meeting opened at approximately 7:05 p.m.
On a motion that was made and duly seconded it was voted to accept the minutes of the
4/14/05 meeting (6 -0).
General discussion was held regarding the 2006 budget. Chairman Gazzolo distributed a
set of budget analysis that showed that the budget was at a current shortfall of approx. 2.1
million dollars.
Chairman Gazzolo stated that we have to focus on the benefits on an ongoing basis. Ands
will email the selectman asking them to give FINCOM permission to look at alternative
health insurance options. Jess Aptowitz would be the FINCOM representative for this
project.
Chairman Gazzolo will be meeting with Mike Trowbridge on Wednesday for a follow -up
on additional school budget cuts. Fiscal 2005 shows that the net school spending number
was approx 2.75 million dollars while the current 2006 budget shows the net school
spending number at approx. 3.5 million.
Andy and Jess will report back next week on the status of the CIP requests as the CIP
committee plans on voting on the requests at their next meeting.
