The purpose of. this' meeting was to bring everyone up to
speed on histcrric.acquisiticn - efforts: in the Great Woods, to
talk about what is happening right now, acid to discuss what
future steps to take
Those present -.who attended the 12-7-93 joint meeting,
between the.Mansfield and Norton Planning_ Boards gave their
impressi.ons of that discussion. Generally speaking, Norton,
dire to financial problems, -is 'looking to. have portions of
the Great Woods land developed "for.r_ommerciallindustrial
purposes. Some members of the Norton Planning Board, along_
with some._business people, see the "Ledo roadway ".as being
necessary. The Mansfield Planning Board is not generally in
favor of this'.road bei.nc built; L. Flynn feels that-the .
town should. work :to.dis_ourage this road;
The issue of :access to. BayBank land via Route 146 'is
still open. With- new,BayBank frontage on Route 140.,_need
for "Lego -roadway" - is.'not as strohg. ' L. Flynn ,feels: that
many people in Nortow "are im favor of protecting the -Great
Woods. B. 'Madan *says working relationship _with. Norton: must
be ,established.
