Re: Fulton Pond Dam
Remedial repairs, including replacement of spillway, tree removal, and
associated work, to the Fulton Pond Dam.
Mark Cook left the Hearing. Bob Fairbanks and Ernie Robideau met with the Commission to
review the proposed project.
Ernie Robideau - Principal in charge of the Project. There are several deficiencies pointed out in
the 1988 inspection report. Spillway too small to pass design flood. The project is almost
designed and the project has been reviewed with the Planning Board and they are beginning the
permit process. They are getting public feedback.
Bob Fairbanks - Project Manager. Problems identified in the 1988 Inspection Report: 1) spillway
design; 2) cut -off wall below spillway and, 3) removal of 26 trees due to concerns with falling
trees which could create failure of dam. Provisions have been made to replant 20 to 26 small trees
in the open area. Seepage tow drain being installed. Temporary pipes to channel river flow are
included. There is a potential plan for a pedestrian bridge.
Other items were reviewed at this time including: stock pile area, sediment trap, water levels,
relocation of trees, spillway cross - section, determination of the 100 year flood, etc. Pavement - the
contractor has to repair anything that is damaged
Mr. AzinhOi: will look into the records for the last significant storm.
No file number has been assigned to this project.
