1. CALL TO ORDER at TOOPM by Chairman Martin in the Town Hall.

of the Board is conducted.
2. VISITORS
At 7:00 PM the public hearing began for a variance for self - service tobacco displays from the
Smoking Regulation for Peter DeTrolio, Rum Runner Wine & Spirits. Mr. DeTrolio stated
that few people enter his liquor store who are under the age of 21. Eighteen year olds come
in to purchase cigarettes. Karen Doucette, Coordinator for NMS, supports his request for a
variance. Hearing ended at 7:04 PM.
MOTION: To grant variance to Rum Runner Wine & Spirits from Regulation
Affecting Smoking and the Sale, Vending and Distribution of Tobacco,
Article 5. Sale of Tobacco Products; Section 3. Tobacco Vending
Machines and Self - Service Displays.
Leonard/Kowalczyk. 4 -0. PASSES
At 7:05 PM public hearing began for variance for self - service tobacco displays from the
Smoking Regulation for Paul Mantia, Villa Liquors. Mr. Mantia stated the same reasons as
above for the variance. Mrs. Doucette suggested that a rope or gate be installed to separate
redemption from liquor store. Mr. Mantia responded that the counter is now horseshoe
shaped and that it deters the younger children from entering the area of the self - service
tobacco display. Mrs. Doucette supports variance as requested. Hearing ended at 7:08PM.
MOTION: To grant variance to Villa Liquors from Regulation Affecting
Smoking and the Sale, Vending and Distribution of Tobacco,

At T IOPM public hearing began for variance for a tobacco vending machine for C.J.
Scooters. Laurie, Mr. Chipman's manager, was present to represent C.J. Scooters. The
machine is located in the game room and it does have a lock box, so that anyone purchasing
cigarettes must first approach the bar to release the lock. Mrs. Doucette opposes the variance
because the game room does frequent children. She would prefer the cigarette machine to be
located in the bar vicinity. Hearing closed at 7:15PM.
