1. CALL TO ORDER at 8:32AM by Chairman Leonard in the Health Dept.'s office at
the Town Hall.
The purpose of this brief meeting was to approve an amendment to the 1998 Well Regulation.
Amendment reads as follows:
XI. AGRICULTURAL WELLS AND PRIVATE AUXILIARY WELLS
WELL LOCATION AND USE REQUIREMENTS
All wells shall be located a minimum of one hundred (100) feet from any portion of a on -site
subsurface disposal system (septic system). The Board reserves the right to impose minimum
lateral distance requirements from other potential sources of contamination. All such special
well location requirements shall be listed, in writing, as a condition of the well construction
permit.
The issuance of a permit for the construction of a private auxiliary or agricultural well shall
not be construed as a permit for use as a private well without the expressed, written
permission of the Board of Health. No permission shall be granted unless the applicant has
first fulfilled all regulatory requirements regarding private wells.
MOTION: To approve the revision of XI. Agricultural Wells and Private
Auxiliary Wells, Well Location & Use Requirements, of the
1998 Well Regulation.
