Attorney Robert Mangaratti met with the Board regarding Milhaus. He advised the
Board he would like to discuss with them issuing a permit to Milhaus to use the
( Sanitary Landfill, especially because of the courts favorable attitude toliards
Milhaus he felt the town and his client could save money by issuing the permit.
F. Gasson noted that if the residents of the Milhaus had wanted individual permits
to the landfill they would have been granted. He felt that by granting the permit
the life span of the landfill would be limited.
The Town Engineer was present and stated he felt the landfill's lifespan was about
212 years.
F. Gasson raised questions regarding zoning ie: if someone applied for a variance
in a non - conforming zone and then that particular zone is re- classified what would
be the status of the original variance. Attorney Mangaratti did not know the
answer to that question but did not feel the Zoning By Law and the Board of Health
regulations were the same.
