Attleboro Area Mental Health Clinic
The visitors of the Attleboro Area Mental Health Clinic were; Dr. Lawrence
Haybur, Clinical Director, Diane Mangiaratti, Vice President, and Mary Ann Powers,
Executive Director, These three staff members came before the Board and explained
that "the Attleboro Area Mental Health Assiciation is a voluntary, non - profit
organization dedicated to the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental
illness, and the improved treatment of the mentally ill. Anyone living or working
in the communities of, Attleboro, North Attleboro, Mansfield, and Norton is eligable
to make appointments with the staff members who have had extensive training in
the field of mental health. The fees are set on a sliding scale and are based on
income and number of dependents. In many cases fees are covered by Medicard,
Medicare, and Bluecross, or other private insurance. Services will not be:re-
fused because of a lack of ability to pay, but without the funds - received from
State and Local taxes, United Way Contributions, Thrift Shop Revenues, & fees
for services, many of these things, including the service to these communities,
would not be possible.
The Health Center has programs for:
Adult Unit - couples, individuals, couples with mariatal depression
Child & Family - family, works with school systems including Mansfield
Child Abuse and Neglect - with a heavy emphasis on sexual abuse
Adolescent Worker - deals with teens who are having problems. The worker
finds these teens when they do not come to the clinic
Crisis Intrevention - takes those who are emergency cases and scheduals them for
that day.
