CORRESPONDENCE I. A memorandum from Rande J. Wilson, Town Manager, to the Mansfield Board of Health regarding the appointment of Scott Leite, Health Agent, as Municipal Coordinator for implementation of the Right -to -Know Legislation. 2. A memorandum from Scott Leite, Health Agent, to the Mansfield Board of Health stating that he has been appointed municipal coordinator for imple- mentation of the Right -to -Know Law and he is requesting that the Board allow him to accept this position. Scott Leite stated that he has spoken to the Town Manager regarding this Position and there seems to be no problem; money has been appropriated for the implementation of this law and has been broken down which includes money for additional secretarial services. Rande Wilson, Town Manager, stated that the hours which are to be used to do the Right -to -Know work must be documented in order for the Town to be reimbursed for this money. Chairman Tartufo stated that he believes the Right -to -Know Municipal Co- ordinator falls under the section of "additional duties" which the Health Agent was hired under. Motion: To approve Health Agent Scott Leite's request to accept the position of municipal coordinator for implementation of the Right -to -Know Law. (Clerk Rosenberg - Frank Zarek - All in favor) 3. Runde Wilson, Town Manager, stated that the Supreme Court has made a decision regarding the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act which means that this will not only apply to the private sector, but also to municipalities as of October 15, 1985, will have to comply to this act. The Act states that any employee who works over 40 hours a week must be paid time and a half and that overtime that is worked can no longer be used for compensation time. Mr. Wilson stated that one of the biggest concerns is that it will effect the secretarial position for the Board of Health because the budget will be overspent if the secretary for the Planning Department continues to also work for the Board of Health. He also stated that this Act will also effect the nightly meetings of the various Boards and Committees. Board of Health Minutes October 10, 1985 Page 3 PLANS Brian Simpson Tremont Street 6.
