requirements will be required if it deems necessary after more field work is
done, according to the Health Agent.
Building 9, Lots 1 and 2, Erick Road
Oscar Klenert, P.E., K &W Engineering, submitted the plans for repair of the
sept.ic systems for Lots I and 21 Bldg. 9, Erick Rd. Bottom of fields at
elevations 141 and 142, 200 gals /day tank, catch basins that leach back into
the ground, and a concrete filter to remove more particles are specifics of
the plan. Mr. Rosenberg felt that as long as Mr. Klenert is meeting the
requirements, he has no problem with this concrete filter. However, he would
like to know what process is taken for cleaning it and maintaining it in a
safe, environmental manner.
After further review, Health Agent Leite will act on the plan.
7. Old Business
Chairman Tartufo asked if the Health Agent had monitored the noise pollution
at Champion. He replied not yet.
8. New Business
Peter Fontanini asked what could be done about the trash piling up behind
Carpet, Etc. building on North Main St. Old televisions, debris and an oil
tank. Health Agent will check to see if the oil tank is leaking.
Monitoring Wells
Peter Fontanini stated that it is his opinion that monitoring wells should be
installed at various locations throughout Town to determine watertable levels,
since groundwater is a primary concern of the Board of Health. Health Agent
said that the DPW has agreed to dig the holes and the Soil Conservation Service
will also be involved. Health Agent feels that the Board should establish a
perc season.
MOTION: To stop perc testing and groundwater observations until
pipes are installed to monitor watertable levels in
different locations throughout Town.
