not yet been set. It was reccommended that Health Agent take out a complaint

the District Attorney's office.
HA reported that Perks are slowing down.
4. OLD BUSINESS
Great Woods- Bruce Montgomery has been very cooperative in the board's
efforts to monitor the noise levels. Chairman met with sound engineers of
both the Plant and Vaughn concerts, some points were over the limit, but largely
due to crowd noise. Chairman went to Lantern Lane during the concert and did
not have readings over 60 db.

BOARD OF HEALTH
June 2, 1988
Great Woods Cont.- Chairman believes that the above average noise levels are caused
by the performers bringing their own oversized speakers, and not by Great Woods
equipment.
It was decided to continue to periodically monitor Great Woods, and to try
to work with them to contain the level of sound, and to work with the performers
to keep the livel of sound reasonable.
We are getting complaints from only extremes in the community- the com-
plaints need to be from a broader base of people to be effective.

draft and was thrown out. It was then decided that Mr. Steele will examin and
report on the rough draft.

It was decided that HA will rewrite the Failure of Septic System Definition, and
this definition will be included in the septic system regulations.
- -At the Selectmen's Meeting on June 1, 1988 , it was suggested that Mansfield,
in conjunction with several surrounding towns, operate a 125 ton a day trash
burning facility. A permanant committee has been formed in Mansfield to deal
with the question. No one has been named to this committee.
There was concern that 125 tons a day is too low a figure to be feasable,
since we now have 22 tons of trash, not including industrial. Also concern for
the health and welfare of the citizens. The chairman would like input from other
boards. He does not feel that the decision should rest wih a 5 member board, though
he realizes the final decision will be with the Board of Health.
