Member VanSplinter attended the regional Solid Waste Study Committee in Attle- boro. Excellent discussion related to regionalizing for solid waste disposal. Chairman Rosenberg reminded everyone that Great Woods.will open in May. Contact should be made with Bruce Montgomery to hear progress on construction of fascia and plans for monitoring concerts. A pre-concert meeting will be set up. Member VanSplinter cautioned against a moratorium on solid waste. An article has been submitted for the 1989 Annual Town Meeting, and Member VanSplinter has several concerns. Does State law supercede a vote of the town meeting? Is it a violation of zoning to prohibit incinerators in certain zones? Health Agent questioned if the Selectmen should get an opinion from the newly hired town counsel firm.
