Since Mrs. Paine is mentally incompetent, final disposition of this property could take a long time and drag into probate court. b. Fluoridation: Agent is preparing details of cost for CIP and is waiting for a return phone call from Fred Barker, Engineer for State. Agent will also let Town Manager know that the Board of Health shoul no longer involve itself with fluoridation. Their jurisdiction lies only with the ordering of it (health aspect of fluoridation). c. Hathaway & Patterson: EPA will be setting up shop on Monday, Dec. 20th. They want to remove any /all usable equipment and products, and give them to a company that does wood treating. DEP will investi- gate groundwater issues. They reviewed the contents of Fact Sheet #1 and Question and Answer document that will be sent to 90 residences in the South Main St. area of the former Gorham Silver site. Mrs. Royle will review the mailing list for accuracy and Health Agent will review the question and answer document and make any additions that he sees fit. Also, holes will be drilled in the streets of this area attempting to locate the plume and to remove samples of groundwater for testing purposes. The drilling at strategic locations will answer many questions and will certainly help determine the extent of pollution. f. VersaCare Alternative: Board agreed that the target they would like to service are people who do not have health insurance and /or no transportation to visit physicians /counselors. Chair VanSplinter commented that the donation of $5,400 /yr. to VersaCare is not cost effective and out of line, since municipalities cannot donate.
