b. VersaCare Alternative: Alan Holmlund telephoned office and
Mrs. Royle told him that the Board voted to pay VersaCare $5,400 till
the end of their fiscal year, which is June 30th. He was very pleased
that the Board will continue till end of fiscal year, so that they can
plan well ahead for the next year. She told him that it is not the
practice of a municipality to donate money, and that the Board wishes
to have more control over the expenditure of the $5,400. VersaCare
patients (Mansfield residents) may in fact, use the system that will
eventually be adopted by the Board. He appeared to understand and
again thanked the Board.
c. Fluoridation: Chair shared a small article with the Board re:
an overdose of fluoride in water supply in Alaska. One person died and
several became ill.
d. Office Scheudle: Agent is meeting with Town Manager on Friday
to discuss the continuance of the present system of hours. Member
Sosman questioned why the questionnaire was given to employees rather
than to townspeople who use the services of town workers. Agent, who
is union steward, hopes that a grievance will not be filed, but that
the differences of opinion can be worked out.
7. NEW BUSINESS
a. Cleveland Twist & Drill Building: It was told to a BOH member
that oil may be draining out of the building.
b. Round Table Discussion: Chair offered members to bring up any
type of discussion that they want since it is early in the night and
often this opportunity does not come up. Sewer hookups, medical waste
disposal, funeral home blood disposal, Stearns Hill Subdivision, and
Great Woods expansion were topics that were mentioned.

c. Great Woods Expansion: Question was raised that since Great
Woods is expanding the facility to seat an additional 5,000 patrons, do
they need to create additional bathrooms? Agent responded that that
reg falls under the plumbing code. It was noted that approx. 100 feet
into the adjacent woods, there was sited to be human feces and condoms.
Board wondered if those items could cause a health hazard. They also
wondered if they could ask Great Woods to inform them of a security
plan to prohibit such goings -on? Agent suggested that these concerns
might fall under the licensing procedures conducted by the Board of
Selectmen. Chair asked if the Board wants to resume monitoring the
sound at Great Woods as they have done in previous years?
Board agreed to ask General Manager to come to a meeting to give an
update on the expansion and how that might reduce the noise levels that
permeate into areas of the community. Board would also enjoy a tour of
the sound equipment and monitoring equipment that Great Woods uses to
keep the levels below maximum db levels regulated in their license with
the town. A meeting in March will be targeted.
