6. Review of Town of Norton Sanitary Sevier Project /Kalkunte Engineering
Kalkunte Srinivasa was present, along with Doug Nason, Norton Chairman of
Water & Sewer Commission. Kalkunte had plans of the two projects; i.e.,
the interceptor and lateral sewer. Norton has received two grants from the
State, one for 70% and the other 50 %. He said the interceptor should be able
to handle flow from South Main Street and Hall Street in Mansfield, by
gravity flow. Selectman Markt asked if the plans had been approved by Mans-
field's Engineer - not yet.
The question was also asked about completion of the project prior to open-
ing of Great Woods next summer. Kalkunte said they expect to have the force
main installed prior to that time. Selectman Harrington said he wants to be
sure the project will be completed prior to the opening night for safety
reasons. Kalkunte said the State will require two -way traffic at all times.
* MOTION: To table the issue until we get a response from the Town Engineer
and Town consultants, Camp Dresser & McKee.
Harrington / Markt
The Town Manager had mentioned that he had talked with Bill Mackey

Selectman Sarro said he wants CDM speeded up so that if there is
any problem it can be addressed as soon as possible. The Town Man-
ager pointed out that the original agreement for the interceptor is
now ten months past the January 1, 1989 date; the Board now needs
to extend this agreement and pick up other incidental costs. The
Board stated they would like the Town Engineer's opinion, but CDM
has the most experience for in -put.
