Indi- vidual members expressed concern about confusion which might result from the parking lot reconstruction scheduled to begin this week. It was sug- gested that the Town Manager discuss with GATRA ways of alleviating the problem should one develop. The Town Manager said he felt with a week or two of experience a better determination could be made of the extent of the problem and he had observed the alternate parking spot, approved at the Board's last meeting, was being fully utilized. c) Selectman Sarro raised a question concerning the opening of North Main Street at the Sannie's store property. He had observed that the opened trench had not been filled in with temporary patch for more than a week in apparent violation of the Town's new regulation concerning street cuts and excavation. Selectman Markt added that the Water Department had also apparently failed to fill a small rectangular sized cut with patch on Chilson Ave. He questioned why this had occurred and stressed his belief, and that of the full Board, that Town departments must adhere to regulations promulgated the same as the private sector. The Board also asked about the contractor's bond for the North Main Street work and whether the appropriate permits had been obtained. Board mem- bers noted that the Town's engineering office had been attempting to gain compliance from the contractor, Phil Beatty, but to date had been unsuc- cessful and asked for immediate enforcement. The Town Managerwa-s asked to immediately check into the North Main Street excavation and the Chil- ton Street cut for water service work.
