D'Onofrio /Wills VOTED: 4 -0 b) Also reviewed was progress on types of municipal insurance available. The Town Manager has consulted the MMA concerning health insurance and has been advised that the Bristol County group Blue Cross /Blue Shield program the Town presently has has the lowest rates of communities sur- veyed. The Town Manager is following up on the possibility of a self - insurance program. Selectman Wills voiced the opinion that there is no hurry in this study since the rate we are presently paying looks very good, but it may be worthwhile to be ready for a future time when all rates will go up. The MMA is presently conducting a survey to identify the problems of injured -on -duty, which is a major problem for local municipalities. A state -wide attempt is being made to reduce this cost. The Town Manager met with a representative from the MMA and the Massa- chusetts Interlocal Insurance Association relative to a proposal for the Town's liability and automobile insurance coverage. Since the town became a charter member of the MIIA program for Workmen's Compensation, it has realized a saving. It is the hope that the same might be true for the liability and automobile coverage also, but cannot be determined until representatives from MIIA review the Town's current program. 8.
