Motors had the lowest bid fora 2 ton pickup at $5,971. This is a 1982
truck. DPW Directors had added 4 items to the specs and it brought the
price up to $6,247. Appropriation is $6,500. Board would like to review
specs and bids before making award.

prevent powder from getting into the pumps.
00 P.M. Jean Nichols - Financial Operations
Ms. Nichols presented the Board with income statements and status reports
on the Electric Department to give them an update of how the department
is doing.. She noted that the rate of return is about the same as last year.
The status report showed the cash balances by month. Board discussed the
rate settlement account and decided they would like a breakdown of rate
case settlement money. Town Manager noted that all town money is kept
together and when electric money is invested it goes back to the Town. The
depreciation account is the only one that goes back to the electric depart-
ment. Board would also like another column added to report that shows.
MMWEC projections on what purchase power costs are going to be. This would
help them make forecasts on a month to month basis. Town Manager also noted
that they received a letter from MMWEC on winter capability study. They
will give us the option to sell half of what we would be receiving from
Pt. Lepreau for the winter months. Board will have to take a vote by
October 15, 1982. Pt. Lepreau is a nuclear project in Canada. Ms. Nichols
noted that she attends classes on Tuesday evenings and would like to meet
on another night.as Light Commissioners.
t * MOTION: To change meeting of Light Commissioners to thedfirst Monday
of every month until further notice. Mahana /May VOTED: 4 -0.

Board decided to send a letter to Toys R Us explaining that posting is
done as checks are received, not when the check is dated and that they
will have to take the responsibility to pay bills promptly. Mrs.
Jell, inek asked the Board a question on a September light bill and asked
where the rates were as they are not shown on the bill. Board went over
it with her briefly.

Fletcher is in the process of reviewing them.

Selectman May asked if positions for Electric Manager & Town Accountant had
been advertised yet. Town Accountant, yes. As a licensing board do we
license vending trucks. Do they have authority to put restrictions on this
type of operation so that any trucks from.out of town would adhere to law
of that town. Town Nanager will get ruling from Town Counsel. Would also
like to know if they have the authority to set guidelines and if not, to
they need a town meeting vote.
Chairman McNair spoke about snow contracts. Should be done soon. DPW
Director will have them for October 1. The request for a rate study should
be handled the same way as other requests and send out a RFP to other firms.
