In two or three days the curves will be out of the roads, and material for both streets has gone out for bid. Should have the water in before cold weather. Both roads will be rough graded so that the water can be put in, but there will be no paving the surface of the roads. The Town Manager questioned the Board regarding what can be done about the stumps and logs, certain amount of private work that means land clearing, as well as town work with regard to brush, etc. He had called the State'Public Health Environmental Division to see if the town could get permission to burn this brush, logs, etc, and was told that there could be absolutely no burning. The stumps and logs are going to be a very serious problem. Suggested Stearns Avenue area for the disposal of this material sometime ago, but no decision was made. Would recommend this site for this material under a controlled dumping program. A fence could be put up, a charge could be made for each load and there would be a man there to control the dumping, and keep the place cleaned up. What won't go through the chipper has to be disposed of. After a discussion, the Board agreed to take the matter under advisement until next week for further discussion when the Board meets with the Environmental Health Committee regarding approval of the new dump Regulations.
