Burns, 232 Mill Street petitioning the Board of Selectmen to consider and direct concerning the complaint of k,%dog bwned- by'the Tatum family on Mill Street. On December 13 their son Dennis was attacked by the Tatum dog. Mr. Lovinberry, a neighbor, intervened and saved their son from serious harms. We took Dennis to the Norwood Hospital for examination and a tetanus shot, and Patrol- man Figueredo administered first aid at the scene. Mrs. Tatum had stated that the dog had shots and not to worry about Dennis, but town records indicate that the dog is overdue for its shots. Dennis was badly bitten and mauled by this dog, and it was requested that the next time a person is attacked by this animal that the dog be removed from the ownership and shelter of the Tatum family and destroyed. The Clerk read the Dog Officer's report on the complaint received from Mr. and Mrs. Burns, advising that on more than one occasion he had received complaints regarding the dog in question. He had also told Mrs. Tatum that the dog must be kept restrain- ed. Advised both tors. Tatum and her son regarding the leash law, and that the dog should not have been allowed loose at any time. The Chairman advised that since the town has a leash law the dog should be on a leash or tied.'in the yard. Dog is biting people on the street, and something has to be done. The dog is not supposed to be free at all, should be a responsible person with it or on a leash. Should be kept off the street, not free to roam at all.
