Copy of letter sent to the Board of Appeals and Planning Board from Building
Inspector Grant to°;Peter,Fontanini was read advising Mr, Fontanini of the
status of his lot on Tremont Street. A permit was issued on January 21, 1972 to
build one single family dwelling. A variance was requested for a permit to
erect a similar structure on the same lot, and went ahead and erected a founda-
tion on this lot which is prohibited by our Zoning By »Laws, Leter advised the
foundation must be removed forthwith. Also it was noted that a single family
house was erected on Benefit Street and a permit had not been issued at the
time of construction and will have cto be inspected for the rough frame by the
Building Inspector as provided for in the Building Code. The violations must
be corrected within ten days, or further action will be taken.
The Building Inspector advised that he had told Mr. Fontanini to stop working,
and come and get a building permit. Stopped him from working last week, then
he started working again. Building permit was issued January 21, 1972, Mr.
Gross called to see if permit was issued, and was advised permit had been issued,
and was at his house. Mr. Gross could not find it on the house. Violated
law by putting up a foundation for another house,

Building Code, the Building Inspector notified him to stop work. If he fails
to comply with this, he can go to court and get an injunction, the party having
been served with this notice, the Building Inspector informs you,and Building
Inspector may Advise the Board to have Town Counsel take action.
With regard to Mr. Gross stating that he could not find the building permit on
the building, Mr. Grant advised that people had difficulty keeping permits post-
ed because of the rain and children taking them down, etc. The intent of the
building permit is so that the Building Inspector knows it. The only people
that have the right to go on anotherts property are the Inspectors of the town.
