Application from Hoerner Waldorf for "one 159000 - gallon and one 100000 -ga1-
lonc tanks for the storage of parrafin" (as read by Clerk). Public hearing
was held at 8:30 p.m. Selectman Caponigro stated that he had been contacted
by Mr. Eleo Zaffini of the Planning Board, who registered the complaint that
the tanks had been installed before the public hearing had taken place. The
Board determined that the application was for the use of the tanks, not the
installation. Mr. Harold Bonnyman, Vice President of Hoerner Waldorf, and
Production Manager Merrill Seely appeared. Mr. Bonnyman noted that the ad-
vertisement as read was incorrect; the application was for three tanks, two
10,000 - gallon tanks, and one 15,000 - gallon tank. John Grose said that he
would be opposed to the approval of all three tanks when only two had been
advertised.as Selectman Secher moved that three tanks be approved subject to
Town Counsel's approval, with Selectman Caponigro seconding this. After a
discussion of the legality of approving three tanks, and Mr. Bonnyman's
saying that approval of two now, and the other later would not interfere
with Hoerner Waldorf's schedule, Selectman Caponigro withdre'4 his seoond,
and the motion to approve three tanks failed. The Board then voted to re-
advertise the hearing for the other 10,000 - gallon tank at no cost to Hoerner-
Waldorf, and the hearing for the other tank would be on January 99 1974•
