Meeting regarding Electric Light Department 1973 -1974 - 18 month budget
request - $3,959,954-
Present: Leslie H. Ferrier, Light Superintendent, Dennis A. Hannon, Town Manager
Chairman.D6ugl6s:.L'Y1Titus, Joan Secher, Clerk and Selectmen Caponigro, Colella
and Herbert Levine.
Allan Johnson from the Sun Chronicle also present.
Discussed Wages and Salaries- Administrative as recommended by the Town Manager
who reviewed this budget with Mr. Ferrier prior to this meeting. (Town Manager rec-
ommended $165,000) an Engineering Assistant ($8- 10,000.) to handle mapping,
scheduling duties- was recommended by Mr. Hannon.
Under Maintenance and Operations, distribution expense increase 420% (approx) due to
increased growth and wages. 1 4,000.). A peak of 15,400 M4 was reached January
1973 - a 25.5% increase in one year.
Under Construction and New Equipment: $40,000. was recommended. The developers
will do their own backhoe work.
Discussion in regard to Payment to Town in Lieu of Taxes: Town Manager has suggest-
( ed to pay 2 years "rather than 1 -1 %2 years. To be determined based on final budget
recommendations, etc.
Subdivision regulations regarding underground utilities are to be discussed at a
future time.
Meeting with representatives from C.C. & F. regarding 3 mgd water storage.
Discussed donating to Mansfield the above capacity 0 million) if Mansfield
would agree to take over after construction is completed. Standpipe would cost
approximately $600,000. C.C.& F. agreed to have =water tower drawn under our
consultant's recommendations.
Present water and sewer capacities were discussed.
