Park, sponsored by the M.C.A. Neighbors of the area from Brook, Church and Hope Streets cited noise, parked cars; and abusive language and drinking as reasons for their calls to the Police Station on that night. The Recreation Commission members said that the permit had been granted to use Memorial Park because the previous concerts at that location had been orderly and they had no reason to deny permission. Both the M.C.A. representatives and Recreation Commissioners said that any future concerts of this size should be held at another location, away from residential sections of town to prevent any disturbance to the neighbors of the area. Also discussed was the number of patrolmen assigndd to cover the event, and the Police Chief's recommendation to assign no less than 25 patrol - men, at the expense of the sponsors, to any event of this size in the future. Chairman Louis Cinelli of the Recreation Commission pointdd out that permits for this type of use of the park were granted only after receiving a recommenda- tion from the Police Chief.
