Phil Dimonte and his attorney, Jim Kelley met with the Board to discuss alternatives to banning cars from parking on the side of. °Route 106 (Pratt Street) across from this store. Mr. Dimonte felt that the speed of the cars coming through the area was the problem more than the narrowness of the road when there were two cars parked on either side of the road. He suggested that there be signs erected to slow down the traffic and warn the motorists of a thickly settled area. After discussion, the following action was taken: Selectman Caponigro moved that the Board rescind the parking ban on the southerly side of Pratt Street, and that the Town recommend to the State Department of Public Works that this area be posted for 30 miles per hour, and that the cross -walk be re- painted. Mr. Hall ex- plained that the taps enabled the lower voltage near the end of the line to be compensated for. Mr. Hannon said that the next low bidder, Botts Electric, met the specs, and the delivery time would fit into the work schedule. Selectman DeLong moved that the Town Manager and the Light Department Director be allowed to award the bid to the second low bidder for the reasons explained. The Board and the Town Manager discussed the cover of the warrant report for the 1976 Annual Town Meeting.. He said that the printer had contacted him and said that the Finance Committee had instructed them to print the cover differently than sent over to them. Selectman DeLong said that it was the responsibility of the Selectmen to submit the warrant, and if the FinCom did not want to save a duplication of effort by printing their recommendations in the same booklet, then they should try to get the money for a separate book from the Town Meeting. He moved that the Cover be printed as it has been in the past. No second. Selectman Clemmey questioned when the town hall would be turned over to the town. Mr. Caponigro reviewed items to be completed before accepting the building and releasing the contractor and the architect from their responsibility. Mr. Clemmey also questioned when there would be permanent office directory signs. Selectman Caponigro said that the Arts and Restoration Subcommittee of the Town Hall /Police Station Build- ing Committee has this as one of its projects.
