MMWEC Board of Directors
Present were Carolyn Stouffer, Governor's Appointee, Curtis Lanciani, Mgr.
Littleton Electric and Neil Murray, Mgr. Holden Electric to discuss their
concerns about Mansfield staying as a member of M.M.W.E.C. There was a
discussion on AAIWEC losing control of the organization, what the organi-
zation should be doing for us and the cost of Seabrook when it cannot be
put into use. There was also discussion of an open ended fund through
the rates for energy conservation measures which is still subject to action
in the future, and having NM14EC finance a load management program. It
was suggested they look at EOER regulations to see if they could be more
flexible. Commissioner Harrington felt that MMWEC was unresponsive to
Mansfield's needs and did whatever they wanted until a problem arose.
Mr: Lanciani noted that attendance at the various committee meetings is important
so that the Managers of the electric utilities can get their input from
commissioners into the meeting and get new ideas and results. It was noted
that there is a change in direction in the MMWEC structure. Another issue
raised was to look over the next 10 -15 years for economic development and
growth in the area. Also, they should look at transmission lines and the
problems involved with them.
Bid Award - Pickup Truck
MOTION: To authorize the Manager, subject to his agreeing to final
approval, the bid award for a 1987 pickup truck to Flurkey
Chevrolet at a price of $9,167 with a trade in and any
applicable rebates. D'Onofrio /Dunn VOTED: 4 -0.
