Ronald /Robinson Fiberglass Poles Main Street Vote 4 - 0 Four of the poles up town are cracked and need to be replaced. The Manager feels that the poles were cracked by snow plows this winter. Neppa Conference Two hot subject were discussed at this year's Neppa Conference. Retail Wheeling and Transmission Access. The Manager informed the Board that Retail Wheeling will allow other electric companies to supply electricity to our customers using our lines. Then we would charge the other company a fee to use our lines. We would still have to pay the fixed portion of Seabrook bills, so we would have to raise the residential rates. The Manager advised the Board that we want to open up the transmission access and get competitive in this area, while at the same time not allow retail wheeling. Reorganization at MMWEC ( There were 110 employees at MMWEC and now there are 88 employees. The Manager informed the Board that he feels that even with 88 employees there is still fat there that needs to be trimmed. The power supply group has been reorganized and put in a separate division which reports directly to the Board. They will now be a Profit Center and they will have to package and market their services and try to sell them. Their budge will no longer be cost driven. Contract Ratification The Union voted to accept the Contract offered by the Board back in June of this year. The Manager recommended that the Board vote to approve the contract ratification retroactive to July 1, 1994.
