ZBA application for Special Permit - Old Colony Motors The applicant wants to build a structure on the lot across the street, which has been used as an unpaved parking area. The lot is in a residential zone, and the applicant received a use variance in 1980 to park cars there. Based on that, the applicant contends a building to show cars would simply be an extension/ expansion of the use. Mr. Burke said he disagreed, but added the Building Inspector and Town Counsel seem to agree they could do it with a special permit. Motion: To send the ZBA a negative T recommendation. The board feels there is a significant difference between an unpaved parking area and the construction of a structure on same based on a 1980 use variance. (Sullivan- French) All in favor. PASSES 21. Planner French asked if the board wanted to send the Woodlot Estates drainage and parking studies out for independent engineering review. Chairman McClanahan suggested sending it back to the town's engineering department and asking them to review it again, then if the board is not comfortable with the response, send it out. Planner French was concerned about time restrictions and getting too close to the decision deadline. Motion: To send Woodlot Estates and Woodland Park outside for independent review of the traffic and drainage studies.
