With respect to the proposed amendment to Section 5.7 Trees,
the Planning_Board discussed the following:
1. The headings "Latin" and "English" should be put over
each respective column of tree names.
2. The planting details for the cul -de -sac and
boulevard should be redrawn.
3. Planting the trees in a six foot grass strip.
4. The sidewalk adjacent to the curbing.
5. Elimination of the grass strip.
To amend Section 5.5 Curbs and Berms Paragraph 5.5.2 by
deleting the last sentence of the paragraph.
The purpose of this proposed amendment is to eliminate
the granite throat stone currently used behind each catch
basin. It is my opinion that use of a throat stone is
not necessary. In addition, throat stones often become
obstructed with sticks or other debris and can lead to a
maintenance problem.
Due to request by the Engineering Department and after
discussion of the amendment, the Planning Board took a
consensus to leave the throat stone requirement in the
Subdivision Rules and Regulations.
