4. 9:20 P.M. - Discussion with Phil Beatty - Deerfield Village
Phil Beatty requested that the Board listen to the abutters and residents
of the immediate area of the proposed Deerfield Village subdivision, which was
recently denied and that the Board reconsider its previous vote on the special
permit application.
Public Discussion
Frank Wilhelm - 621 Ware Street
Mike Hunter - 595 Ware Street
- Deerfield Village seems to be
the best use of the land vs.
industrial uses.
- Feels all concerns have been
addressed. Surprised with the
Board's decision. Thinks a resi-
dential development would be better
than an industrial development.
Planner Annino stated concern of the density. The applicant, has not proven that
the plan is a good one and that it will work. Good land planning would be
required.
Peter DeGirolamo
Dan Thorobow, bb Brook Street
- This area is no place for an industrial
development
- This development would be an opportunity
for young people to buy non- subsidized
housing. The homes would be good
for first -time buyers.
- Conditions for house types
The procedure for reconsidering a special permit decision is as follows:
1. Five of seven members of the Planning Board must vote in the affirmative
that the new submittal is substantially different.
2. Six of seven members must vote to rehear the application.
3. Five of seven members must vote to grant the application in order for
it to be granted.
