Meeting: opened at 7:34 p.m.
Topics of Discussion:
Miscellaneous:
Bill Ross, Town Manager requested emergency approval from the Finance Committee for town
snow and ice removal per MGL Ch. 44 Section 310 (see exhibit # 1). The town was operating at -
$22,142.84 deficit for winter maintenance efforts.
Finance approved 4-0 (Mr. Greg Arnold was unable to vote).
Greg Arnold received his new three year appointment notification and will be sworn in prior to
the next Finance Committee meeting.
The members discussed the Conservation Commission making a plea for increased hours for
FYI2.
Analysis of School Budget:
The Committee reviewed and compared the FYll and FY12 School Budget (exhibit #2) They
recognized that they currently have a $4.2 million deficit for FY12 that requires continued review. This
is an 10.4% increase from FYll to FYI2.
FY 2012 Budget:
The Committee reviewed the preliminary FY12 Revenue and Expenses. The also reviewed the
spreadsheet (exhibit #3) for variations. Mr. Karl Chambers stated he would make further amendments
to the spreadsheet based on the Committees recommendations and they would review during the next
meeting.
