Motion: To Open at 7:35p.m.
(Lavin - Lazzara) 5 - 0 Passes
Mr. Lazzara explained a reserve fund transfer request that had been submitted to the Finance Committee
for the replacement of a boiler in school administration building. The schools are looking to replace the
broken boiler rather than repair it. The schools have proposed that the reserve fund be used to pay for
the cost of the repair and that the schools will pay the balance to have the boiler replaced. He said that
CIP had already approved the replacement of the boiler. Mr. Lazzara said that the approval of this
request will leave approximately $5,000 in the reserve fund.
Vote
Motion to approve the transfer of $12,300 from the reserve fund for the school boiler.
(Lazzara - Lavin) 5 - 0 - 1 Passes
Vote
Motion to appoint Mr. Lazzara as the primary Finance Committee representative for the Town Manager
search committee; with Mr. Gazzolo acting as substitute.
(Lavin - Goldberg) 6 - 0 Passes
Mr. Gazzolo said that the Finance Committee received a letter from the attorney general's office about the
response to the allegations of illegal meetings. It said that the Finance Committee was not found to be
holding illegal meetings.
Motion: To Close the Public Meeting and go into Executive Session.
To discuss the strategy with respect to collective bargaining or litigation as an open meeting may have a
detrimental effect on the government's bargaining or litigating position.
