March 31, 1999
Present: Chairwoman Royle, Clerk Wills, Selectmen Amoroso, Robinson, and McCartez. ? ',

1. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM followed by the `pledge of
allegiance.
A. Warrant No. 40
Motion: To approve.
( Amoruso- McCarter) Chairwoman Royle abstained on all Board of
Health items, Selectman McCarter abstained on the Municipal Building
Committee payroll, and Selectman Robinson abstained on the School
Department payroll. All in favor. Passes.
2. Questions and Continents
Residents in attendance asked the Selectmen questions concerning the Great Waves
project.
Chairwoman Royle informed the residents that the Board voted to file a Notice of Appeal
with the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs and that the other Boards whose
jurisdiction falls within the project must follow the proper legal path to protect the
community from legal ramifications from the proponent of Great Waves. Chairwoman
Royle requested the resident's patience and understanding and assured everyone that the
Selectmen and others will do all that they can to regulate the project.
Motion: That no hook up for the water amusement park to the Municipal water
supply be allowed until:
a. All appeals of the Secretary of Environmental Affairs finding of
adequacy of the FEIR have been concluded.
b. Both the Walsh Well and Morrison Well have received approval
from the State.
C. Withdrawal permits from under the Water Management Act have
been increased sufficiently so that we would not have to impose
water bans.
(Wills - McCarter) WITHDRAWN
During discussion of the above motion, Selectman Amoroso suggested the motion be
forwarded to Town Counsel for his review, and Chairwoman Royle requested the motion
be withdrawn.
Motion: To send the previous motion to Town Counsel for his review.
(McCarter - Wills) All in favor. Passes.
3. At 8:20 PM, the Board of Selectmen's meeting adjourned to a meeting of the
Light Commissioners.
