Executive Session
Minutes
September 15, 1999
Present: Chairwoman Royle, Clerk Wills, Selectmen Amoruso and McCarter
John D'Agostino, Town Manager
Robert Mangiaratti, Town Counsel
Chairwoman Royle explained that the Board of Selectmen is in a receipt of a letter from
Great Waves attorney, Eugene Boyle, dated September 8, 1999, and Town Counsel
Mangiaratti received a call from Attorney Boyle, asking if the Selectmen would like to be
involved in discussions with his client.
Attorney Mangiaratti stated that the Town's Special Counsel, Mark Roberts, feels
beginning discussions with the proponent would be useful in finding out what Great
Waves would be willing to give the Town. Attorney Mangiaratti also stated he feels the
Board should hear what the proponent has to say and suggested that the Board utilize his
services for the discussions.
Motion: That we authorize the Town Manager, Staff, and Town Counsel to open
discussions with the representatives of Great Waves to explore what
possibilities there may be for the mutual benefit of the Town and Great
Waves.
(Amoroso- Royle) (3 -1) Selectman McCarter opposed. Passes.
Adjournment 9:30 PM
Motion: To adjourn the executive session and return to open session.
