BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Present: Chairman Edward Tartufo, Selectman Amos Robinson,
Selectman Frank Colella, Selectman Joseph Pasquale,
Selectman Ralph Penney, Town Manager William F.
Williams, Town Counsel Robert Mangiaratti, Chief of
Police Jesse H. Earls
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Mansfield Fish and Game -- The Board discussed the Fish and
Game complaints of Mr. William Morton with Town Counsel
Robert Mangiaratti. After discussion, it was suggested that
Mr. Morton and the officers of the Fish and Game be present
at the February 3, 1993 Selectmen Meeting. Town Manager
will advise Secretary to make invitation.
2. Recreation Director /Personnel Matter -- Town Manager
presented request of Recreation Director to change the title
of the Program Director /Secretary position. After
discussion, Selectman Pasquale moved to change the title to
Assistant to Recreation Director, which was seconded by
Selectman Penney. Vote was unanimous.
3. Great Woods License -- The Great Woods license was reviewed
in detail with Town Counsel and the Police Chief. After
receiving input, the Board decided to discuss the issue at a
February 11 work session with a representative of Great
Woods.
4. Police /Fire Chief Warrant Article -- Selectman Colella
requested the Selectmen place a warrant article on the
Annual Town Meeting warrant to remove the future Police and
Fire Chief's positions from Civil Service. Selectman Penney
suggested in addition that the Selectmen be given appointing
authority for the future Police and Fire Chiefs. After
discussion, Selectman Colella moved to reserve a warrant
article place on the Annual Town Meeting to remove the
future Police and Fire Chief positions from Civil Service.
Motion was seconded by Selectman Penney. Motion was
approved unanimously.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:30 p.m. /, _la� 12:�_�
