the East Mansfield sewer construction. The project is making excel-

Planning Board has encouraged the developer of Beaumonts Pond Subdivi-
sion to work with the abutters and the Town in addressing vehicular
traffic and environmental issues related to the extension of Joanna
Drive. The concept has been approved by the Traffic Safety Officer,
Lance Lawson. The developer, Paul Folkman, has agreed to participate
in the extension to a certain degree, as outlined in his letter to
Shaun Burke, Director of Planning & Development, as well as to parti-
cipate in disucssions regarding other required work.
Bill Morrison, 328 Maple Street, expressed concern for traffic coming
off Old Maple Street to Maple Street, and had sketches /maps document-
ing his interpretation of what would happen were Joanna Drive to be ex-
tended. He would like the Board, as Road Commissioners, to partici-
pate in extending Joanna Drive approximately 175 feet to Maple Street.
He mentioned the narrow width of the road, the thin road base, and
problem for school buses.
Ken Kilburn, 318 Maple Street, felt it would make the area alot safer.
Bill Madan, Chairman of the Planning Board, was present and asked if
the Board would hold a public hearing before making a decision (it was
decided to hold one June 17th), and complimented Bill Morrison on his
efforts and research regarding the Town procedures.

Bill Williams, said Bob Swanson, DPW Director, but there are licensed
operators who are capable. He said Bob is advertising for at least

ing /appropriate running of the plant. Bill said he has confidence in
Bob. Selectman Penney suggested a private management source; he feels
it is a very complicated endeavor.
