BOARD OF SELECTMEN
MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE SESSION

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. and Board members were immediately
polled to go into Executive Session to discuss security for the Police Depart-
ment: 5 -0
Selectman Pasquale stated he would like to know what is going on at the Depot.
Jesse Earls said they have gotten rid of all the problem people at the Depot.
Jesse said he plans to handle the downtown area the same as last year. He will
put a park and walk officer out there, but not immediately.
Jesse reported that Officer Natalie Rammel was sent for an independent evalua-
tion. She was denied her grievance, and she appealed; appeals are two years
behing.
Jesse said he expects to have hired two police officers by the middle of July.
Selectman Pasquale said he was very happy with last year's record and handling
of problems. He asked if there was a noticeable difference now that the down-
town phone has been changed; Jesse said 'yes'.
Jesse said he has no money now for overtime for patrols. There are three cars
out at night and a supervisor; the van is at Great Woods. Neighboring town
staffing was touched on. Chairman Tartufo inquired about a radar trap down
town; he was told it can be done, but wasn't very effective last year.
Chairman Tartufo asked about a park and walk officer in different areas -
possibly a subdivision in East and West Mansfield, to improve police visibil-
ity.
Selectman Pasquale told Jesse he thinks he is doing a good job.
* MOTION: To authorize the Town Manager to award raises, merit increases, and
increments to managerial and administrative personnel subject to the
approved FY -93 budget limits set by Town Meeting.
Pasquale /Robinson VOTED: 5 -0
Selectman Pasquale said he would like to see the final list.
* MOTION: To approve $95,162 as internal charges ; payment in lieu of taxes
by $30,000 and increase the operating transfer by $65,162, as Light
Commissioners.
Pasquale /Robinson VOTED: 5 -0
Members were polled to go out of Executive Session: 5 -0
