Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE): This has been the most serious year ever. There have been two aerial sprayings and increased ground spraying. Mansfield was not aerial sprayed because it did not meet the criteria of a history of infected mosquitoes. There were no infected mosquitoes found during the season and Mansfield does not have the geography in which the EEE carrying mosquitoes breed. EEE is much more serious than West Nile Virus. It is however much rarer. A heavy frost will eliminate the type of mosquito that carries the infection. 2 2.
