reported on the Light Departments involvement in the various bridge reconstruction
projects throughout Mansfield. Chairman MacCaffrie asked about service to the

Engineer Chris Cox took notes and will get them out to people in the area. Another

Commissioner Achille reported he was out on Gilbert Street and number of people
expressed concern about the Gilbert Street/Bungay Road intersection which has a pole in
the middle of it. He assured them he would bring it to Light Department's attention. He
was told the island itself is a public safety issue and the pole adds to it. Foreman
D' Ambra advised him the Light Department transferred off the pole many years ago but
Verizon is still attached to it. He suggested we can pressure them to get their lines off.
Chairman MacCaffrie directed him to give them 30 days to do so in order that we can
remove the pole.
