Town Manager John D' Agostino
Town Manager's Annual Salary Review - This was the final meeting of the Board of
Selectman prior to the Annual Town Elections, where two seats on the Board of
Selectmen will be decided. At their meeting of May 5, 2004, Selectmen had determined
it would be more appropriate for the existing Board of Selectmen, who had performed the
Town Manager's performance evaluation, to vote on any proposed changes to the Town
Manager's salary. As requested by the Board, Town Manager D' Agostino had provided
each Selectman with documentation showing the salary impact to his current rate of pay
based on three raise options.
r- Motion: Based on the Board's performance evaluation, to authorize a 1 1/2% increase
in the Town Manager's base salary effective July 1,2004.
(MacCaffrie-no second)
Motion: To authorize a 4 1/2% increase to the Town Manager's base salary effective
July 1, 2004.
(Amoruso- McCarter)
In discussion Selectman Amoruso indicated that the percentage recommended was based
on the Town Manager's positive performance evaluation throughout the past year.
Selectman David McCarter noted a 4 1/2 percent increase was a little higher than he had
expected to award, but supported Selectman Amoruso's motion based on the Town
Manager's good job performance. A question was asked as to whether the 4 1/2 % falls
in line with the average increases currently awarded. Response to that question was
affirmative.
Vote: 3-1 with Selectman MacCaffrie opposed
