Call to order
a Review &approve minutes from previous meeting
Beautification& Community Greening: 7:45-8:15
1. Downtown Flower Barrels(Pat and Nancy) - Nancy received money for the
flower barrels
2. Adopt a Spot(Pat)— East Common sign Girl Scout Troop—completed work
around this spot—planning to spread mulch this Sunday weather permitting —
otherwise area is completed-Anna (Garden Lady) designed the planting bed -
Neil suggested cutting 1 smaller tree along with the tree inside the fence Jason
can check with the DPW(his neighbor) to remove these trees)
3. Mural Update(Nancy) -The drawing has started, there is a lot of buzz, there are
a lot of ideas for raising more money—do we want Keep Mansfield Beautiful to
be a sponsor? $5k donation from Sturdy Hospital—Can fit a total of 8 Gold
Sponsors on the mural- Selling the ability to have your face in the stands for
$500 -Jason discussed some targeted fundraising ideas for the 106
embankment-this is all part of the 'Gateway to Mansfield' project
4. We Noticed nomination for Harbor One (all)- Neil is going to send Patricia and
the group a copy of the certificate, Patricia has the frames, she will contact
Harbour One to present the award.
5. Route 106 embankment—Trees are in and weeds have been cut Guerrini is
supposed to give an estimate, we are going to try and get some other quotes—
We spent-$2000 for the trees= Neil is going to send the plan out so we can get
comparable quotes
Litter Prevention and Cleanup 8:15-8:30
1. Litter Busters SWAT team June 15 (Relay for Life) -9-10am at the High School
Reporting to the field next to the campground.
a. July 20—Train Station Downtown (Brian will look to coordinate this day)
b. September 21 -Comcast/South Main/Resevoir Street (Neil will coordinate this
day)
c. October 19—Maple/Francis (Pat will coordinate this day)
2. UPS Community Service Day-They contacted Neil to do some clean-up in town—
they did some minimal clean-up near Foxboro Plaza
Administration: 8:30-9:15
11 Treasurer's Report(Mike)Balance$9377.49
a. Still awaiting bills and reconciliation for Flower Barrel Project
al 2013 fundraising update(have all promised checks arrived?)—Did not get from
Samsonite($1000)
3Z Status of account at Mansfield Bank and Paypal
a. Paypal costs are 16%--from(2)2.22 donations ended up with$3.74 in the
account
41 Non-profit gift fund grant
a. No update yet from Tiger Woods Foundation
From the Town Report there are a number of various accounts with balances
in them, some which may relate to what we do. Neil is going to contact the
Town Manager to see about maybe consolidating them into KMB account or
other in town current/projected projects.
Communications & PR (Neil)
1) Family Fun night July —
a. We need to send a check to participate in the event
b. We have some tee shirts to sell from the clean-up
c. Working the table: Brian,Pat, Mile, Jason, Neil
2) Website and Social media updates (Brian)—211 Twitter and 224 Likes on
Facebook-website is static except for Mural updates
3) Thank you notes?
4) Open issues;new ideas
a. Per the town meeting laws we are not supposed to communicate in
email/etc outside of the meeting
5) Any items not anticipated by chairman 48 hours prior to this meeting
6) Next meeting date August 14
