March 17, 2026 ,
23
Attendance: Giampaolo DiGregorio (Chair), Lavanya Ramesh, Annettd Sh6lw I i
Dan Cavicchi and Nancy Breef-Pilz. Guests: Kevin McNatt (Mansfield Historical
Society) and Alex Bramley (Fisher Richardson House docent)
Absent: Drew Owens & Eileen Cusack
Minutes: Minutes from January 20, 2026 were reviewed. After an adjustment
was made to the attendance, a motion was made by Lavanya to accept the
minutes; seconded by Dan. Motion was unanimous.
Fisher Richardson House: In preparation for the upcoming summer season the
meeting guests shared ideas to increase visitors and enhance the tour and
displays. A social media account, additional parking (perhaps on the grass), and
changing exhibits were among the items discussed. The current Docent
Coordinators, Beth and Michelle, will continue with their positions. The Old
Colony Museum will be contacted about inclusion in the passport program.
Annette made a motion to hold a meeting in April at the House with the docents
and (hopefully) the new curator to make plans for the new 2026 season;
seconded by Dan. Motion was unanimous.
Cyber Security Training: The town is offering this online training to those who
use their email and network. Since Lavanya uses it for the Commission's email,
she will do the training.
Commission Website: Eileen distributed a list of the Town Cemeteries that she
obtained from the library. It will be added to the website.
Correspondence: A letter from Donald Steele (Rumford Ave) was received
concerning the proposed sale and demolition of the building at 110 North Main
St. Mr. Steele is concerned about the downtown losing its old buildings. Since
Mansfield does not have a demolition delay policy, Lavanya will respond with
information about compliance with the Planning Board.
MACRIS Project: The subcommittee is working on a list of demolished
properties to be submitted for updates to the MACRIS listing.
Boston Post Cane Award: Paolo sent a letter to John O'Connor of North Main
Street, but did not get a response. He will inquire at the Town Hall for more
contact information, such as a phone number.
New Project Ideas: Paolo proposed a community reading of the Declaration of
Independence to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country. He will
approach members of the community to read and record at the Cable Station.
Dan suggested asking the town for a sign marking the Old Town Cemetery. He
will put together a proposal to also include an historic tour throughout the town.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 7pm.
Adjournment: Motion was made by Dan to adjourn the meeting at 8:16 PM;
seconded by Annette. Motion unanimous.
Respectfully submitted,
