Memorial for Nancy Wall
Ana spoke with David Loving, Nancy Wall's husband. They discussed memorializing ideas including
planting a tree, dedicating a Bench with a plaque and adding a metal or painted plaque on the mural.
David mentioned he would like all three of the ideas done. He even mentioned donating money towards
the expense. The committee discussed using one of the donated Subaru trees, and the potential location of
the bench at the North Common with a view of the mural. Also contacting Ian Geaudreau to paint a
plaque on the mural or getting a metal plaque. And having a dedication and presentation.
Fundraising
To be discussed at the January Meeting. Included in the discussion, applying for the Non -Profit Gift Fund
for Mural Lighting. Kelly recommended improving the letter based on her discussion with the
Professional Fundraiser from Keep Massachusetts Beautiful. Some of the suggestions include more direct
contact with large donors, improving our reach out and engagement strategies. Increase the number of
times Newsletters are sent out and requesting In -Kind donations.
Trees from Subaru
Neil Rhein, Director of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful, contacted KMB about the offer of free trees fi-om
the Patriot Subaru North Attleboro business. The business is tied to the national Subaru/ Arbor Day
Foundation (ADF) Tree Program. The trees are being held at Ana Newell's house. They are growing
nicely. Some suggestions to get trees planted - Kids Planting Day/Earth Day/Cleanup.
Traffic Light Box Wrap
Pat Colbert advised the members that the vendor (Cool Air Creations from Smithfield, RI) has not been
responding to her call. Pat, heard from Eileen Cusack that the vendor might be going bankrupt or through
a reorganization phase. Pat will contact Eileen Cusack to discuss other options. Also other vendor options
were discussed. The timeline for the project is for the Spring. .
Mural Project
The work on the mural was completed. Mural illumination has been put on hold due to cost constrictions.
The balance of the mural funds is being considered for Memorials to Nancy Wall.
2025 KMB Annual Fall Cleanup Event
The date for the annual fall event is scheduled to take place November 1 to November 15th, 2025.
Banner went up on 10/20. Reminders to community and sports groups sent on 10/5 and 10/13. Sign ups as
of this date are low. Ana will be away on vacation and Kara agreed to be the Precinct 3 leader. Ana will
send her all the information.
Cleanup materials will be left at Pat Colbert's porch for the annual Fall cleanup. Pat mentioned how easy
it is having the event participants pick up materials at her residence — a self -serve type operation that
works well. Suggestions were made to allow some flexibility on the timing indicated on the cleanup
banner and to update the verbiage on the flyers to expand info on the sequence of activities on cleanup
day.
Kelly suggested a more engaging effort should be made to encourage Sports teams to sign up. Which
could include attending Sports Board meetings. Kara mentioned promoting competitions by teams for a
Pizza party.
Danielle will create a flyer and put a package together to encourage/advertise the events. Many groups
require service hours that could be accomplished by participation in the clean ups.
Family Fun Night 2026 Date TBD
We Noticed!
The committee discussed the possibility of nominating Mansfield Shredding for this year's award. Kara
sent an email to the committee with various ideas to enhance the program. Discussion tabled until January
meeting. Some of the ideas include nominating twice a year, timing nominations and requests for
nominations with social media posts and newsletters.
Downtown Flower Barrel Program
Pat Colbert reported there are 119 Begonias plants from Patrick Lyons Nursery in downtown area barrels.
There is a barrel sponsored at Memorial Park. That veteran's bench barrel is being sponsored by Pat and
John Colbert this year. KMB also sponsors 24 barrels, and the COA sponsors some veteran barrels in the
downtown area. There are some barrels at the Fruit Sheet triangle that are sponsored and maintained by
nearby residents. Cost of each flower barrel remains at $60 and the Pansies will be replaced mid -season
with Angel Begonias. Only one sponsor has not paid. The program was profitable this year. DPW will
remove the barrels in the next few weeks to avoid frost.
Adopt -a -Spot
The Happy Hallow AaS was adopted by Celia Herschlag. The Jordan Jackson AaS was adopted by Kara
Hanks and friends of JJ School. Mike Healy's AaS is still available. Ana reached out to Mulkhern but
received no reply. Ana will reach out to Wicked Good Chiropractor.
Litter Busters
Samsonite Corporation performed a cleanup on 9/23/25. After they mentioned safety concerts during the
clean up of Rte. 140.
KMB Clean Community Award Ceremony
The KMB Clean Community Awards event is scheduled to be held in May. We discussed nominating
Mike Healy for one of the awards.
