The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from April 17th, 2025. Passes.
Dogs
• Recently surrendered, 15 year old Westie named Charlie has some health issues and is
deaf. He might go to a hospice foster, but Carol will also look into Vintage Pets Rescue.
• Carol received a report that adopted dog Wylie is doing well in his new home.
• Bypath Humane Society had a dozen Huskies from the same source as Rolo and Lakota,
so we are competing with them to get our two huskies adopted. Val has video of Rolo and
Lakota that she will provide to promote adoptions.
Cats
Sharon heard from the adopter of Ares and Phia that the cause of their constant diarrhea is
tritrichomonas. Now that the cause is known, the problem can be cured.
Miscellaneous
• Sharon and Vanessa will participate in the Math Night at the middle school on May 201h.
They will create math problems related to weighing and feeding cats and kittens.
• The new shelter website is running.
